Because the applications of CNC cutting are so diverse, it can prove hard to answer this question. We can cut a wide range of materials in wood, plastic, solid surface – even fabric and cardboard. From large 3D jigs for forming, to nylon machine components just a few centimetres wide, at Trade CNC we do it all!
We cut from boards up to 3050mm x 2050mm (10’ x 5’) and from just 1mm all the way up to 100mm thick.

Retail and display
For eye-catching shop fittings that display your goods to best advantage, we have years of experience designing and manufacturing shelving and display counters. You will have seen our work in some of your local supermarkets and some clothing stores. We produce wooden baskets for supermarket baked goods, sprayed with food grade lacquer using our in-house spray shop, and circles to be made into units for wine display. Metal products include shelving for white goods and specially-designed racks complete with brand logo for displaying clothing, taking advantage of our in-house digital printing services. Some of the most eye-catching designs are produced using acrylics.
The display stands for the engines were manufactured in clear acrylic, with the engine make engraved into the acrylic and back-lit to produce the glowing effect that makes the names really stand out. All furnishings were designed to reflect the clean lines of the engines, using materials such as carbon fibre and cast aluminium. A particular focal point was the showreel on the screen, which was produced from 3D animations of the engines in Solidworks and 3D Studio. We project-managed the entire display stand, including the hospitality area and new product brochure.
We also produce point-of-purchase items, so you can create a unified look and feel to your retail fittings with the peace of mind that comes with knowing everything is being manufactured by the same team in the same place. We recently manufactured a mobile sales point for a garden centre:
Constructed from FSC grade sustainable grey melamine faced MDF with matching edging, the unit consists of a lockable, vented cupboard with shelving, integral cable management and braked castors for ease of movement. The finishing touch was an acrylic plaque with the garden centre’s logo.
Furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE)
Are you re-fitting a restaurant? Building a block of student accommodation? Designing an office? Constructing a hotel? Then you will need furniture and fixtures. Our CNC machines can make short work of cutting out wood for cupboards, wardrobes and drawers, and you can choose whether to take advantage of our joinery assembly service for a complete turnkey package, or to have your items shipped flat packed for convenience together with detailed assembly instructions produced from our CAD software.
We can help with the little items that keep your day running smoothly, such as wooden menu boards, plastic chopping boards and wooden pizza platters. And our design team love to assist you with the bigger items, th e things that express your personality and really make you stand out from the crowd. We have produced a number of decorative fretwork screens, including geometric Islamic design panels for use on the walls of a mosque. Take a look at the decorative panels we created for a new office building:
CNC techniques can also be used to create statement items of furniture such as intricately shaped legs for a glass-topped table, or successive layers of MDF, plywood or solid timber can be built up to create an out-of-the ordinary reception desk.
Signage
A quick glance at the signage images in our gallery will give you some idea of the wide range of signage designs we can produce. From a mahogany noticeboard engraved using cnc routing, to a vinyl printed shop front canopy, we can help.
